I recently purchased two new cloth diapers from Thirsties to review. (She had to take time out of his horribly busy schedule to help pose for these photos. Ahem.)
This was the first one I received.
The second one I received, I won a giveaway from “It really is so easy being green’s” blog the same week! This is a Pocket Diaper and is sporting a Duo Diaper Insert.
When I first received these diapers, I was planning to review only the prefold. I opened it up, and I was totally nervous. My first wrap and prefold! Eek!
I had only used pocket diapers up until now, remember? I thought for sure I was in for it, that somehow this was harder to manage or figure out or something.
Boy was I wrong! In fact, I think I have a newfound love for wraps and prefolds. All you do is lay down the wrap, throw down the prefold, and it’s done! I actually think it was easier on my wrist rather than stuffing it into a pocket and making it lay straight for a change.
Thirsties come in two sizes. Ultimately, they have six sizes with the adjustments along the front! After seeing how fabulous they fit Robert’s bum, I think this is definitely the way to go! One size diapers are nice, and I am stocked with only such, so I “get” buying one size. But when it comes to growth, these diapers will last you much longer. The size two is noticeably larger than my “one size” diapers.
Rawni very quickly outgrew our one size diapers, and these will last much longer. Besides, on a newborn, the one sizes are totally bulky. Then, on an older child, they get to be too small too quickly.
Thirsties has solved that problem.
My absolute favorite part of Thirsties Cloth Diapers though are the gussets. Never heard of Leg Gussets? Me either, ’til now. Let me show what they are. See
See?! See?! How can you go wrong with support like that? They hug Robert’s (adorable) little thighs better than any of the other cloth brands I have tried up until now!
I have to add that, I really liked the duo hemp prefold, but I loved the duo diaper insert! If I were made of money, I would buy extras and probably even restock my diaper stash with those. They are much thinner (actually both of their inserts are) than my other inserts but seem to hold just as well. How can you beat that?
These diapers are soft. They held Robert’s “goods” in well. Well, the first night they didn’t, but I think that was an operator error because it only happened that once and the diaper wasn’t even full, but the front was wet. We’ll blame that on a daddy diaper change before bed, kay? I found Thirsties diapers to be designed in good quality. They are easy to use. Most importantly, they are a diaper I would recommend to friends and family! I’d give Thirsties cloth diapers an easy five out of five stars!
