[OVER] Cow Patties Cloth Diaper Review & Giveaway

Ideally, I prefer “Mom and Pop” businesses. In reality, I rarely make the leap to buy from them. Why? Glad you asked!  I get nervous about being scammed. I feel like if you aren’t scammed initially on a website, you can be scammed by sharing your information with them, or scammed from receiving your product, or worse, in my opinion, you could have spent the money and have the product be complete crap.

To get me to buy from a Mom and Pop business you will need my full attention by at least one strong word of mouth opinion. That is a big reason why I enjoy doing and reading reviews. Sharing companies that I enjoy, respect and value, especially Mom and Pop businesses is something I believe is important.

For the past several months, I have been a stalker of Cow Patties Cloth Diapers on Facebook. Their page is loaded with up to date photos regularly, and a nice personal, upbeat forum to participate in. It took me a while to work up the nerve to email Megan to see if she’d be interested in teaming up to work with me on a review giveaway, but she did!  Imagine my excitement after all of that stalking and working up the courage to email her to hear back, and quickly, and with a yes!  I feel honored to be involved with Cow Patties Cloth Diapers.

Megan, the owner of Cow Patties Cloth Diapers, has been making cloth diapers since 2007.  Her mission is “To provide cute quality diapers that everyone can afford.”

I’d have to say, Megan is right on target!  Not only that, but I have kept an eye on her wall, and I gather that Megan is pretty quick on her shipping with all of her customers.  She makes these diapers handmade and seems to have an awesome system to getting them sewn and shipped within a more than reasonable time frame.

For this review, I was given an adorable One Size Pocket Diaper in a Rooster print. This diaper has a black anti pill microfleece lining inside and also came with a bamboo insert. The outside of this diaper is one of the cutest in my collection. I love the roosters. They remind me of one of my Gramma – one of my favorite people in the whole wide world!

I could not believe how thick the waterproof lining is on this diaper. It’s like the “Nordstrom” of cloth diapers, no WalMart quality here!

This picture truly does not do the intense thickness justice.

The insert to this diaper is thin enough to use during the day but absorbent enough to use on a long outing.

It easy to use, wash and fold.  Being a one size diaper, it is nice to be able to fold it to the correct length of the diaper.

The inside is so cool!  Have you ever seen a black lined diaper?  I haven’t.  I really like that I won’t have to deal with the risk of stains.  However, it did occur to me when Robert had a bit of a rash and was occasionally having a little (for lack of better word) “wet farts”, it is harder to peek in and see.  But overall, that’s not the norm, so I don’t feel like it’s a big deal, or impossible to work around.

As soon as I prepped this diaper with a good wash before use, Robert put it to test.  He would not stay very still for photos, at all.  He made sure he could climb onto his toy (a very important rule to our “acceptable” cloth diapers).

At any rate, we have had this diaper for about a month now and I have not had a single day leak or problem with it.  Unfortunately, I’ve forgone cloth diapers at night for the time being.  I would assume that a heavy wetter, at Robert’s age, might need an extra insert.  But under the age of one, I would see this diaper being more than fit for all in the nighttime absorbency department.  That is not based on personal trial, though.

Besides being able to customize your diaper, one of my favorite aspects of Cow Patties is the cost.  Not only are you working with a “Mom and Pop” business, but you are getting a steal of a deal doing so.  From what I have seen, I would expect the quality of this diaper to hold up for quite some time.

In closing, I don’t know what you are waiting for!  Unless you’re admiring my adorable almost 18-month-old in the most adorable rooster print diaper I’ve ever seen!
